CBG is considered to be the “stem cell” of other cannabinoids, including CBD.

For this reason, it is easy to see how the two phytocannabinoids could be quite similar.

However, some people are asking themselves, is CBG the new CBD? This is a viable question as CBG appears to offer the same benefits of CBD, and then some! However, CBG is very minimal in most cannabis strains, where CBD is found in abundance in many hemp cultivars as well as psychoactive medical cannabis strains. As research grows surrounding this phytocannabinoid, it is suspected that we will find as we have with others, that they work better together. Many within the scientific community believe that the various nonintoxicating cannabinoids may offer specific and varying therapeutic uses, so it will be intriguing to see what research concludes in the coming years.
