CBD Is the Newest Ingredient in Skin Care

    By: Danielle Gazda

Skincare companies are taking advantage of new and old research about the properties of CBD. Anxiety, pain, and insomnia are not small ailments to contend with, but CBD’s newest challenge to tackle is irritations of the skin.

New CBD beauty and skincare products are making their way into the world in the forms of lotions, sunscreens, lip balms, facial cleansers, and more. The key is CBD’s known anti-inflammatory benefits within the body. So why shouldn’t it help externally as well? Common skin conditions such as hyperpigmentation, acne, eczema and psoriasis are all associated with inflammation.

    Facts about CBD Skincare:

    1. It is anti-inflammatory

One of the major benefits of CBD is that it is anti-inflammatory. Most people deal with skin inflammation, resulting in physical discomfort from the heat and swelling or cause low self-esteem from not feeling comfortable in your own skin. CBD can get to the root of these issues by bringing down swelling, redness, and irritation. It can even clear away minor breakouts caused by some skin conditions.

    2. Can reduce oil production

Oil is the best known and most common form of CBD, which could deter people with oily skin from wanting to try it. However, CBD skincare products have been shown to restrict and reduce the production of sebum, a naturally occurring oil produced by the body to protect the face. While sebum is good in small amounts, the overproduction of sebum is the primary cause of acne. CBD can regulate this production system and help clear the skin.

    3. Can relieve dryness

Dryness and itching are often side effects of skin conditions or can be naturally occurring. CBD paired with lotions and creams can soothe flaky skin and rehydrate it in the process. CBD skin care products may be useful for people with sensitive or combination skin, since irritation or discoloration can also be reduced by CBD.

If you have a persistent skin condition, look into the new CBD skincare products on the market. You may find something that could change your life.
