Christina de Giovanni is a woman pioneering in both journalism and cannabis. She is CEO of Emerald Media Group, publisher of The Emerald Magazine, where she works to bring normalization and social equity to the industry. We got to chat with Christina and learn more about why her work is important to her and how she accomplishes her goals each day!

What’s your craft?
A journalist by trade, but multi-media publisher by nature.

What’s your favorite part of the day?
I’m a nightcrawler. I get my best ideas late at night when I have peace and my pipe.

What or who inspires you or brings you out of creative fatigue?
I’m a people-watcher. I enjoy looking at all the creatives in my industry and discovering ways we can work together.

How do you think the hemp trend has affected wellness?
I appreciate hemp for all that it can produce, and for bringing our industry into a more socially accepted light. Now that hemp/cannabis isn’t viewed as the “Devils Lettuce” anymore, people (including my mother and grandmother) are much more open and willing to try it. With the public now realizing the detrimental effects of opioids, hemp has arrived not a moment too late!

What’s one tip on how to best integrate CBD into your routine?
I enjoy my nightly CBD facial cream routine. I’ve tried quite a few products over the years and love how I can wash the day off with my favorite industry products.

How do you stay balanced?
I enjoy THC as well as CBD, so I consume both. Everything in moderation, though!

What’s one app you couldn’t live without that’s not social media?
Monday.com is a great resource and work tool for keeping track of business and what needs to get delivered to our audience. I also use the Google Voice app a lot for recording podcasts and interviews.
